UPDATE!!  Hey this is Doogie and I just wanted to give you an update - in case you have not read my story below let me fill you in. I started out in rescue then a nice family adopted me but they let me eat a little too much and something happened at home and they could no longer keep me so I cam back to my foster mom. Now don't get me wrong my foster mom is great but I would really like to have a REAL HOME OF MY OWN soon. I will tell you at first I don't trust you all the way but by the time you leave from visiting me I will be your friend.

I love attention, I am good on a lead and love taking walks, I will follow you anywhere you go - but at first you may have to watch me since I am not sure where you will be taking me. I love to play, I sit on command, I can even jump up and turn around for a treat. I love giving you kisses too!  If you are up to watching a good game on the tube then I will sit on your lap or lay on the couch as long as you have a free hand to pet me - nothing wrong with a guy cuddling with me or a girl too.  What more can you ask for in a dog? I am small and compact so I am easy to take EVERYWHERE you are going.

Doogie's big brown eyes will win you over once he warms up to you and doesn't feel the need to bark and be afraid. He has been on a healthy diet and has lost 14 pounds since coming into rescue. He is looking quite fit and cute as ever! He is crate trained but has been accustomed to having the run of the house. All that has changed since being back in foster. He is good on leash, knows how to sit and heel, does well with recall, and generally loves to please his master. He barks when strangers approach . We are now working on how to meet and greet others without getting anxious and defensive. He is actually doing better and even took treats from a teenage girl just yesterday! Our goal is to support him in returning to his earlier playful and confident self. Then he will have a lot to offer a family who will continue to work with him.
